The 60-team 18U Wood Bat Championship will usher in both a busy and, finally, seasonably pleasant weekend at Diamond Nation in Flemington, N.J.

If that forecast can be trusted and comes to fruition, what could be better than the deep and competitive 18U Wood Bat Championship?

The 18U Wood Bat Championship gets underway with five games on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. North Atlantic Select Team Surge Prime squares off with Jersey Boyz Baseball on Field 1 and Diamond Jacks Super 17 Upperclass meets Gallagher Newtown 2019/2020 on Field 5 in a pair of intriguing openers.

The talented field also includes such quality programs at A’s Nation Showcase, Indian Valley Storm, NYC Youth Academy Highlanders, Generals Varsity, NJ Jays, Delaware Diamonds, ASBA Futures East 2019, LVBA Prospects 17U and Locked In Baseball Expos 18U Blue.

The deep field will play to three separate championships and the playoffs begin on Sunday afternoon. The first and second round playoffs in three brackets will be played at 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The survivors will advance to the championship games at 8:30 p.m. The Black Bracket final is on Field 1, the Yellow Bracket championship game is on Field 3 and the White Bracket final is set for Field 4.

12U Slugfest

Diamond Nation is also playing host to the 10-team 12U Slugfest to be held exclusively on Fields 2 and 6.

The 12U Slugfest begins on Saturday with a pair of 8 a.m. openers. PS2 Academy Crusaders plays New Jersey Select on Field 6 and the Diamond Jacks Super 12U encounters the D1 Colts on Field 2.

Keep an eye on such high quality programs in the 12U Slugfest as the East Coast Mavericks, L/M Wildcats, Tri-State Arsenal 12U Navy and the East Coast Sandhogs, just to name a few.

The 12U Slugfest playoffs begin on Sunday in the late afternoon. The semifinals are set for 4:30 p.m. before the winners collide in what is sure to be a highly competitive championship game at 6:30 p.m. on Field 2.
