Matt Wambold locks in on the pitch which resulted in the go-ahead single for the BC Generals.

Brighton Fontaine knew something was mechanically off upon taking the mound for the Bucks County Generals 2026s on Friday morning at Diamond Nation.
When it happened, Fontaine did what all good pitchers do. He didn’t get frustrated, used his head to figure out what was off, and ultimately corrected the flaw.
The end result was an impressive five-inning outing that helped his team defeat Wladyka Continental, 5-2, at the 17/18U Garden State Invitational, Powered By Victus. It completed a 3-1 showing in the tournament for the Generals.
“I started a little wild,” Fontaine said. “I wasn’t getting separated fast enough. It was causing my fastball to rise. So once I separated at the right time, I was able to really dial it in.”

Chris Gialanella of Wladyka Continental takes off for second base.
Fontaine, a rising senior from North Penn High School who has committed to Alabama, allowed one run on two hits, with seven strikeouts and two walks.
The run, one of the hits, and both walks, came in the opening inning.
“I figured it out by the third inning,” he said. “I knew if I could just pound low and away, they’d swing and miss. When I’m missing high, it’s gotten to the point where I’m able to realize what I’m doing wrong.”
Wladyka Continental, which finished the week 2-2, scored in the top of the first. Devin Guzman drew a one-out walk, stole second and moved to third when Jake Dolan singled up the middle. Generals shortstop Keegan Wade made a diving play to keep the ball in the infield to prevent Guzman from scoring.
Guzman did score, however, after Jake Scoropanos hit a sacrifice fly to center.
Fontaine wasn’t the only impressive pitcher in the game. Seldon Kolkebeck, a 2026 right-hander from Northern Valley-Old Tappan, allowed one hit over three scoreless innings for Wladyka Continental. He struck out seven and walked one.
The Generals had better success against the bullpen, starting in the fourth inning.
With the top of the order starting the frame, Sean Hill led off with a full-count walk. He stole second and scored when next batter Wade hit an RBI single to center.

Sean Hill of the BC Generals rounds third before scoring on single by Keegan Wade.
Wade moved to second on a ground out, stole third and scored the go-ahead run as Matt Wambold singled to shortstop.
The Generals added three more runs in the fifth for a 5-1 advantage.
Tommy Ginnetti walked with one out. After Brandon Labs was hit by a pitch with two out, Hill hit a fly ball to shallow right field that landed near the foul line. It resulted in a one-run double.
Wade followed with a walk to load the bases, and Brycen Clarke hit a single past a diving second baseman and into right field to score Labs and Hill.
Wladyka scored its other run in the sixth. The inning began with walks to Charlie Pepe, Guzman and Dolan. Pepe scored when Riley Gnecco grounded out to third with one out.
