Hustle hits like this typified a well-played weekend by the Diamond Jacks Super 14U.

The Diamond Jacks Super 14U batted in a total of nine innings over the course of two games on Saturday at the 14U Battle at the Turf at Diamond Nation.
The DJacks scored in every one of those frames. So it’s no surprise that the end result was a satisfying sweep to begin the 2025 campaign in Flemington.
The opener was an 18-5 win over Coal Region Sports from Pennsylvania that was settled in six innings.
The nightcap was a 15-3 triumph over the Maine Guides that ended via the mercy rule after the Guides batted in the top of the fourth.
The second triumph was especially notable since the DJacks had a 10-man batting lineup, and the team sent all 10 to the plate in each of the three innings.
There were clearly many batting stars during the day, but one who especially stood out was Drew Gable, who hit a three-run home run during the first game and was 1-for-1 with an RBI double and two walks while accounting for three runs in the second.
“It doesn’t have to be big hits,” he said. “It can be singles, walks, and whatever you can to get on base. We kept putting pressure on the other teams. This was a great way to start the season and get after it.”

Bryson Auten rounds third while scoring for the Diamond Jacks Super 14U against the Maine Guides.
In the game against Maine, who opened their season with a 7-6 win over Southeast Elite Baseball earlier on Saturday afternoon, the Guides scored twice in the top of the first against the DJacks, getting an RBI groundout from Dom Dumais and an RBI double off the bat of Grady Fuller.
The Diamond Jacks scored five in the bottom of the inning, highlighted by an RBI double from Gable, a run-scoring groundout from Bryson Auten, an RBI single to center by Jordan Vesey for a 3-2 lead, and a one-run single toward first base by Liam Freyre. The fifth run scored on a wild pitch.
A six-run second inning included run-scoring hits from Auten and Freyre.
The third inning produced the final four runs. It started with singles by Chase Hallett and Greyson Letang and a walk to Gable.
Ryan Jezorwski reached on an error that scored a run, Auten and Remington Mortman added one-run singles and Victor Burgos walked with the bases loaded for a 15-2 lead.
The Guides scored their final run in the top of the fourth on an RBI single from Jaydon Van.
